This Murrumbeena interior design project was shaped by a very special brief one that centred around honouring the clients’ cultural heritage while creating a modern, comfortable home. From the very first interior design consultation, it was important for me to truly listen and understand how to weave their story into the interiors. They wanted a contemporary feel, but with warmth, depth, and subtle nods to tradition.
One of the most striking features we incorporated was the handcrafted Jali-style wall panels. These intricate patterns brought beautiful texture and cultural significance into the home, without overpowering the overall design. Each room was thoughtfully furnished to suit its proportions, fabric and colour choices played a key role, adding warmth and vibrancy while reflecting the clients’ personality and values. this thoughtful interior design can blend modern style with culture influences to create a home that feels genuinely lived in, personal and welcoming.
